For some, using the site is purely a hobby. Others earn a living by creating and sharing vlogs. And companies see this as an opportunity to connect with their target audience.

For years, YouTube has been among the top popular social media platforms. The infographic below from Hootsuite visualizes 10 facts about accurate cleaned numbers list from frist database YouTube usage over the past year. As with LinkedIn and Facebook, the YouTube figures are based on usage by American users.
The average YouTube user
Did you know that YouTube has 2 billion visitors every month? Of these, 81 percent are between the ages of 15 and 25. Users spend about 11 minutes on the site each day, posting and/or watching videos. Nearly three-quarters of these visits are made on smartphones.
New way of watching TV
As a user, you'll never tire of it, because 500 hours of new videos are published every minute. The platform is a replacement for traditional television viewing for people aged 18 to 34: the website is the second most popular way to watch videos on a TV screen. It's a promising revenue generator for businesses; in the United States, YouTube is worth $5.5 billion in advertising revenue this year.
